Say It With Flowers Or…?

The reality is that all women love to get flowers from someone they care about and more so when it is a Filipina who loves you. Even if you can’t be there to see the joy on her face when that bouquet arrives, you just know she will be thrilled. Or will she? Are flowers the best choice to say what’s in your heart and on your mind?

The sad reality is that many of our Filipinas come from poor families. They struggle to make ends meet and keep everyone fed, clothed, housed, healthy and educated. Spending a measly fifty bucks on flowers might be nothing to you but that same P2000 or so might buy the medicine her Dad really needs or cover the school expenses for ll her younger siblings. So should you send flowers or would you be better off sending cash?

I say send the flowers and here are my reasons. First of all it is personal, between you and her even though everyone who sees the flowers will take some happiness away with them. Flowers do that. You can always help her in other ways if that is your choice but always thinking of the practical and forgetting the romantic is not the way to win a Filipina.

Let’s face it. She knows her family are poor and need help, she is no doubt doing all she can to alleviate the situation. But this is between you and her and it is important. It is something she has that is tangible between the two of you. Keep in mind you may only have met in the virtual sense online or via the phone. The flowers are a gift that is between you and her alone and while they will wilt and die, the thought will remain in her memory for ever. Long after the medicine has been taken or the school books filled up and thrown away.

A Dozen Red Roses Or An Orchid?

One thing to keep in mind when sending flowers to the Philippines is that the flowers have to be available locally. Even if you use a State side florist, they will be getting a florist close to where your Filipina lives to create the arrangements and deliver the flowers. While a dozen red roses is romantic and impressive anywhere in the world, ask yourself how readily available they might be in the Philippines?

In Manila and Cebu and the major cities I am sure there are roses to be had. But if she lives in a smaller town or in the provinces then you will be hard pressed to find anything not locally grown. Many flowers we consider ‘staples’ of bouquets such as roses and carnations are grown in Baguio and then transported around the country and so they can be expensive by our standards as well as to a local buyer.

On the other hand what we consider exotic tropical blooms such as orchids might be a dime a dozen and grow right outside her nipa hut! The best solution is to work with your florist and to choose a florist with a lot of experience in delivering arrangements to Filipinas in the Philippines, even when they don’t live in Manila but way out on some remote island.

Filipinas Love Flowers!

Like women the world over, Filipinas love to receive flowers. From large flower arrangements for those very special occasions, to simple bunches of Roses that say ‘Mahal Kita’, I love you. They also love gifts and emails, telephone calls, SMS text messages in fact any form of communication that lets them now you care, you are thinking about them because they will be thinking about you.

When you do send your love across the world you want to know that it will get there, no matter what form it takes. Flowers, gifts, chocolates or even cash so they can buy themselves a trip to the beauty parlor. You need to use a service you can trust.

Before you do choose a particular service provider, take the time to make sure they are legitimate. There are sadly too many scammers out there, so use your common sense and the inbuilt security features of a PayPal or similar payment system.

Don’t forget to tell her Mahal Kita!

Sending flowers to someone you care about in the Philippines should not be difficult, or expensive. Filipina Flower have been helping people to send flowers to the Philippines for five years.
